A building on a beach, fossicking in a forest, landscapes infused with history and an underlying fascination with water, its’ refreshing life-giving attributes and reflective energetic qualities are all concepts that inspire Annette Ellson’s work.
Annette explores the diversity of nature, its shapes, rhythms and textures, and the connection we have with our natural environment. Then by combining traditional silversmithing and contemporary metalworking techniques with precious metals, rocks and other materials she creates Objet d’art for display and wearable pieces of jewellery for adornment. Annette enjoys the design and technical investigation that goes with making, and the possibility of sparking a connection with the viewer or wearer of a finished piece.
Annette’s studio is close to Perth’s West coast beaches and is where she designs and handcrafts her work.
